Voting

At the expense of giving TMI (too much information) I thought I’d tell you a funny while reminding you to vote today!

My husband and I disagreed over the library ballot. He thought it was so poorly worded that if he voted yes the powers that be could choose to use the money in ways he hadn’t voted for. I was willing to take the chance because the city planners are proposing a NEW LIBRARY at the turn into MY neighbor. Think of it. A quick three or four block walk and the library would be at our fingertips. It might even help me overcome this bad overdue fine habit I have.

So, I begged him to take a chance and vote yes just in case I could get my library. I even did a little negotiating. I wouldn’t say it was under the table, but if he cashes in on it, it could be under the covers . . . (was that legal?)

So, we come out of the polling place and he grins at me. “I voted for your library.”

I laughed as he put his arm around me.

I think I’ve got an appointment tonight after the kids are in bed.
