Tender Places

I’ve lived in some tender places this week.

Places where the Lord asked me to revist pain so I could share my journey. And it hurt a little.

Places where other people invited me into their pain. I prayed and cried and held them. Their pain hurt me, too.

But I wanted to visit these places. I wanted to invite Jesus into those halls and let Him whisper healing, peace, and truth into the lies that entered our wounds.

I pray God cradles us all in His arms tonight. I believe that as we are honest before Him and invite Him to touch us in those tender places, he will. As He continues to brush over me with His love I long to love Him more and to fully trust Him to enter all those tender places in me and my friends and to bring beauty from our ashes.

Dear Jesus,

Open my heart to love You more. With Your beautiful scarred hands peel away the calluses of hurt and fear and reveal my heart’s tender place. Breathe upon it the full confidence of Your love, that I may trust You. Smile at me. Caress me with Your eyes, that I may see Your love and surrender to Your touch, convicted fully of Your acceptance of the heart You have cleansed—the heart I offer You.
